“A Spiritual Standard of Living”

In our day-to-day living how much attention to do we pay to our spiritual ideals? What role do they play in our thoughts, conversations and activities? In what way does our spiritual idealism shape our life’s ambitions?
We measure practically everything in life. We measure our height, weight, blood pressure, calorie intake, mileage on our car, distances we walk or run, and countless other things. By what standard do we measure our spiritual life? How do we add up the noble desires and enlightened ideals? How do we keep track of our progress on the path of self-perfection?
Without dedication to a spiritual ideal, we cannot realize that for which the soul yearns. But the degree of our dedication is not measured in finite terms. It is known only to us by the realization of the oneness of life. It is experienced in the fullness of our heart. And it is attained in the consciousness of peace.
